Facts about Bijou

  • Breed: American Shorthair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Bijou is a busy girl, always on the move and always exploring. Not surprisingly, she also enjoys a good round of playtime. Throw a stuffed toy in her direction and watch her grab it, hold it close to her tummy, and bunny kick it into submission. Make the laser light dance enticingly around the room and prepare to be entertained as Bijou runs all over in hot pursuit of the elusive red spot! Wave a feather wand around and Bijou will do her best to capture it. Even if you need a break from participating in Bijou’s playtime, just make sure there is a rollerball toy in the vicinity and Bijou will entertain herself by batting the mouse in it around and around again!

This beautiful, sweet kitty with the lovely disposition enjoys being with her people, accepting petting and brushing. She also enjoys mealtime. Let me re-state that, she also revels in mealtime. This could be a result of her being a recent rescue and not understanding that we’ll always make sure she has enough to eat…or…it could just be that she really adores food. Time will tell!

Bijou doesn’t seem to mind the presence of other friendly kitties. Check back for updates as we learn more about this pretty gal with the playful spirit and enthusiastic appetite. Intrigued already? Fill out an application today - www.azrescue.org.

About RESCUE

About Our Rescue Group...

RESCUE is a registered non-profit volunteer based animal rescue organization located in Maricopa County. RESCUE has no central facility and is volunteer run. Our focus is on the "kill lists." We were founded in 1995, and with the support of our volunteers and our community, we have found homes for over 11,000 dogs and cats. Our motto is for every animal adopted, we are back to rescue another. We depend on the community for our support and offer a variety of satisfying ways for you to get involved in our mission to end the killing of the orphaned dogs and cats. Please consider adopting, volunteering or donating.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a shelter. We are at various special events around the valley. Please see our Upcoming Events section on our website for further information. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to some of our wonderful animals.

Our Adoption Process...

Fill out an online application, have an interview with a Matchmaker, if we are in philosophical alignment, set up a meet and greet and if all goes well finalize the adoption. Our service fee for dogs is $150 and $125 for cats. All our dogs and cats are spayed and neutered prior to adoption.
