Howie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Howie's Story...
Howie is a 6 year old shih Tzu who loves to snuggle and have his belly rubbed. We call him our weather baby, because when its going to storm he will let you know because he wants to be sitting close to you, preferably with his head under the cover. He also “talks” to you; it’s the cutest thing ever. He is good with kiddos (older ones preferably) and other dogs. Howie likes to play or just lay around - and he's housetrained! This cuties is being fostered in West TN and will be transported once his adoption is finalized. If you'd like to add Howie to your family please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out our online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Howie, a Staunton Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
