Meet handsome Huey. This guy is 4 yrs old and 55 lbs. Huey is a very special dog and is DEAF. He was picked up as a wanderer and his owner was contacted. She promise to come and get him but never showed up. He has been in boarding and in foster care for over 2 years! If anyone deserves a real home, it is this sweetheart. He's so sweet and lovable and he is learning sign language for basic commands. A local news station did a story on him but he still got no interest. We do not understand because we think he is quite a catch He is loving and sweet. He has been fostered with other dogs and has does fine, but he would be wonderful as an only dog too. He likes everybody and is even great with children. He could be a fantastic addition to any family!

The adoption fee of $350 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, USDA interstate health certificate (for transport only) and transport fee. Please go to our site for general information and the adoption application. fordogssakerescue.org. The application is the first step in all adoptions/inquiries. This is not a link; please type in into a new browser window. At this time, we are unable to adopt to Rhode Island residents. Please note: Pups marked “pending” are adopted but not yet traveled home. They are to be considered unavailable. Thank you. Additional information is available on our site fordogssakerescue.org.

About For Dogs Sake

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, volunteer organized and run dog rescue. We work with shelters and rescue groups in AR & AL to find homes for their locally unwanted, but highly loveable puppies and dogs. The pups and dogs are brought to New England on transport once their vaccinations are up to date for travel. We are always in need of foster homes for our pups; the more we have, the more pups can be saved.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Appointments can be made to visit some pups at their foster homes at mutually convenient times for adopters and foster parents. (The pups are up for a visit anytime!)

Our Adoption Process...

We require the potential adopter to fill out an application form and tell us about what life would be like as a puppy at your house. The address to the adoption form can be found in the pups' bio. Once the application is received, we will check your references and then contact you for an informal "phone interview." If it is mutually determined to be a good match, an adoption contract is sent via email. Our adoption fee is stated in their bios, and is due at the time of adoption. A signed and dated adoption contract is due at puppy pick up.
