My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Oscar, a 16 pound Poodle who we believe to be 6 years old . Oscar is very energetic and loves to go on long walks, chase after toys, and earn his treats. He’s also extremely affectionate. Some of Oscar’s favorite things to do include nuzzling under your arm, having his belly rubbed, cuddling, and playing with other animals. Oscar does well with both dogs and cats, but is more comfortable with smaller animals.

Oscar prefers to play gently, so he’ll need a family with just adults or older children. He tends to be very quiet and rarely barks, especially inside. He is making noticeable progress with potty-training. Oscar will not chew your shoes or gnaw on things he's not supposed to. Oscar does very well in the car and prefers to be the front passenger. He is always learning and is eager to please. He likes his crate - it makes him feel safe and he sleeps in it every night. But he probably has some negative associations for people reaching inside for him from his previous life, since he has displayed some fear aggression his foster people reached in for him. The foster home is now working on desensitizing him with respect to this so he feels less frightened around this particular issue. If you are patient and willing to continue teaching Oscar that he has little to fear, then please consider him as your new family member. He was recently evaluated by our behaviorist who thought that with the right guidance, this little guy will be a wonderful pet.

Oscar's adoption fee of $300 includes: vet exam, heartworm test (neg.), rabies vaccination, bordetella and distemper vaccinations, flea control, routine deworming, microchip and neuter.
