Facts about Little Wan Kanobi

  • Breed: Rat Terrier Mix
  • Color: White - With Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Little Wan Kanobi is a darling 3 legged Rat Terrier/Chi mix who weighs 8 pounds and is approx 3-years-old. Sadly, her owner has moved to Brooklyn, NY and she has been unable to adjust to life in NY. Her current owner feels she will do better in a quieter home with a family who has more time for her and she would like her to remain in Seattle. She has been well loved and cared for since she was adopted as a puppy. Little Wan Kanobi was rescued from a hoarding situation at 5-months-old. The humane society, who rescued her, had to amputate one of her badly injured legs. She runs, walks, jumps and gets around just fine on three legs. She is house trained to go outside but will also use potty pads. She is crate trained, does well in the car and loves to meet other dogs. She can be a bit shy to meet new people but she warms up quickly. She is very quiet and calm, almost cat like :) She loves to curl up in her little bed or on her owners lap. She would be a great companion for a retired couple looking for a little dog to keep them company.

Little is a rescue 'rat-terrier' and very sweet. She’s not a barker or a biter, and loves to lay in the sun or sniff around the yard. She has 3 legs, the right front is amputated, but she is very mobile and loves to run around, she will come back by whistle for a treat and is very good with stairs, jumping up is no problem but she will stay off furniture when told to. Shy at first she is extremely friendly and loving once she knows you and always wants to cuddle when you want to. A very cat like dog, in that all she really wants is a little bed or lap to curl up in, and a space outside to safely roam a bit and then come back inside (she will never go far and always comes back at the call). There are no “accidents” when she has a yard (for new homes I would use puppy-pads while you’re away as she will need to adjust to your schedule). Loud neighborhoods are not a good place for her. As a small rescue she is completely comfortable when she knows a place but trucks/cars/and lots of pedestrians make her very uncomfortable. She would do best with a retired couple or someone who works part time at home and has a small garden/yard area they can just let her out to. She loves to snuggle, so someone who likes to have a pet in their lap while they read or watch tv is great. She also loves to curl up in her bed and does not have to be a lapdog, she is good about going to bed when told.

Little Wan Kanobi's adoption fee is $300. She is spayed, micro chipped, UTD on vaccinations and overall very healthy.

About Down Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Down Dog rescue was established in 2012 after the founders first rescue dog, Harley, passed away from old age. Courtney McFarlane adopted Harley when she was just 17-years-old sparking a life long commitment and love toward saving dogs. Down Dog is dedicated to rescuing highly adoptable dogs from death row and placing them into loving forever homes. We believe every dog deserves a second chance and we feel blessed to live in region where dog adoption and rescue outweighs breeding. We are proud that our death row dogs are now happily living in Seattle spending their days accompanying their owners to work, boating around the Puget Sound and romping around dog parks.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Down Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue located in Seattle, Washington. Each one of our dogs is placed in foster care until they are adopted. Our fosters typically live in various neighborhoods in Seattle and Bainbridge Island. We setup meet and greets for potential adapters in their own homes, or the homes of foster parents. Occasionally we will meet at a dog park for the initial visit.

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for choosing adoption! We are dedicated to placing our dogs into the right family. We require adoption applications to be filled out and completed prior to meet and greets, a Veterinarian or personal reference check and home visits before adoptions are complete. We also require our adopters to fill out adoption contracts and we reserve the right to place dogs in a two week trial to assure dog is going to the right home. We are open to all types of living situations. Our fees range from $150-275 depending on age.
