Leiko New Leash on Life's Story...
I’m Leiko, the little Polynesian flower girl with a heart of gold. I’m happy that PAWS has put me in the NLOL program in Pamlico. As a low to medium energy girl I’m very good at being a couch potato and yet I’m also smart. A small Shepherd, Hound, or Lab mix? you’ll have to do a DNA test to find out. I do really like children and food. Still very young at nine months old we could share many happy healthy years together. As a NLOL dog I’ll be fully vetted, altered, heartworm tested, UTD on vaccines, and will be ready to go home with my family in May. Housebroken, crate trained and basic obedience will make me a well rounded companion. Adopting families will be able to attend their doggie’s graduation. I’ll be patiently waiting to meet you.

If you’re interested in adopting a NLOL dog contact Jackie Schmidt at 649-5504 or Penny Monell at 249-1453. You can also email PAWS at mail@pamlicopaws.net and download an adoption application at pamlicopaws.net on the individual dog’s page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leiko New Leash on Life, a Oriental Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Oriental, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Oriental.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oriental already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oriental breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oriental paves the way for another one to be saved.
