Facts about SABINE - LAID BACK SWEETHEART

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: KC
  • Hair: Short
Sabine was found on Thanksgiving Day. Her owners left her when they moved, and luckily the neighbors were kind enough to look out for this sweet girl by feeding her and letting her seek shelter in their garage. It is really difficult to understand why someone would just abandon a family member, but it’s particularly puzzling when you meet Sabine. She has a loud purr motor and is always ready to curl up next to you. She loves head scratches and being combed, and is even laid back when you clip her nails. She is the sweetest and most trusting cat you will meet, which says so much about her disposition considering she has every reason not to trust humans. Sabine is a young girl at around two years. Her play drive is on the low side, but it’s not unusual for her to run around the house or roll around with a catnip toy. She is an affectionate kitty who has been known to adorably headbonk your hand if you stop petting her when she's hasn't quite had her fill. But Sabine is a low maintenance girl. Her favorite spot is the back of the sofa, where she can be in the middle of everything and observe it all. She just wants to be around her people! Sabine wants to be the queen of her castle and needs to be an only animal.

Sabine tends to gobble her food, which isn’t surprising for a stray who never knew when her next meal would be. She is in no way aggressive, though, and is fine if she is fed on a schedule versus free feeding. If you are looking for a laid-back companion who will be loyal to you forever, Sabine is your cat!

About Furry Friends Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Furry Friends Animal Rescue

We are a new group started in 2013 by a large group of experienced rescuers - we wanted to be part of an ethical rescue group which would allow us to help homeless cats and dogs in the North Texas area. We value all the experience and knowledge brought to this group by the volunteers so the group is member based. We welcome new volunteers and fosters, both experienced or new to rescue. You can contact us by email or through our website - we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Our Adoption Process...

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis - it is our goal to find the right home for the cat or dog as well ensuring that the cat or dog is the right match for it's new family. A win/win situation.
For dogs, we require an application, home visit for approved application, and home trial period to ensure that it's a good fit for the dog and the family.
For cats, we require an application, but do allow same-day adoptions. Our goal is to find our fosters a "forever" home.
Our Adoption Fees are $140 for cats and $175 for dogs.

All our cats and dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption - this includes all age-appropriate vaccinations, feline leukemia/aids testing, heartworm tests, deworming, spay or neuter, microchips and other medical treatment as required.

You can fill out an Adoption Application online on our website.
