My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

.Daisy is a 21 month old female, Mantle Great Dane who was surrendered by a family with young kids who had to move.

Daisy is crate trained. When her family is not home, she does need to be crated. She gets a bit nervous when her family is not home and will have accidents.

Daisy has worked with a trainer to curb some fear issues learned throughout her life before coming to FFGDR. She loves getting treats and likes to behave so that she can gobble them up! She loves to please and just wants to cuddle and make her owner happy. She has improved greatly with training and thrives with a scheduled routine. If she had job to do to keep her busy, she would thrive even more. Her new owner will need to be very patient with her and continue to take her to a trainer or dog training class.

When Daisy arrived at FFGDR she was very shy and cautious around strangers and public places made her very nervous. Since her training and the implementation of her schedule, she is friendly when meeting people and comfortable in public.

When Daisy gets to know and trust someone, she is the sweetest girl ever! She loves to snuggle with her foster family and enjoys getting her belly rubbed. She is a little infatuated with the couch —- it’s just too darn comfortable!

Daisy is not a big barker and only barks when someone she doesn’t know walks by the house. She is currently living with another Great Dane in her foster family, and she loves him dearly. Daisy would do best in a home that already has a confident, large dog in it to help her feel safer. Her foster family also has a cat…but she’s not so sure about it: Daisy is more scared of the cat than the cat is of her.

Daisy knows how to “sit,” “down,” "look," "shake," and comes when called. She is very smarth so it won’t be too long until she has mastered many more obedience commands. As she likes to pull while on leash, Daisy would do well on a harness or Gentle Leader.

Although not fond of horseplay (especially by children), Daisy does fine with kids but would flourish in a quiet environment without children around 24/7.

Once outside in a fenced yard, Daisy will run and you will see her true personality. She really enjoys running and could make a good running partner for someone. A 6ft. privacy fence is preferred. She also loves chasing rabbits, squirrels, and other wildlife within her yard.

With the right owner to show Daisy patience and love, her beautiful personality will continue to blossom and grow.
