Facts about Pia

  • Breed: Dachshund
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Pia is a super sweet little girl. She suffers from CDLS Chronic Dachshund Licking Syndrome...she air licks and she will lick you unless you pet her. That is one way to get her to stop for a bit :)

Pia weighs 7 Pounds!!! She is 4 Years young!!!

Pia came to us via a Hoarder/Backyard breeder. She had little to no social skllls when she first arrived and tried to eat every human she saw. We have spent a lot of time with her training her that humans are OK.

She does take a bit to warm up and is a typical Dachshund that LOVES her humans. She will try to guard you from intruders and from anyone that she thinks will hurt you...she has her little grrr grrr grrr down pat.

Pia needs a Dachshund Experienced mature family or person to adopt her. No kids since we do not trust her to be nice if they reach for her without warning.

Pia is a love bug once she knows you and would not hurt a fly, however the key is to get to know her.

She gets along with most dogs and ignores cats.

Experienced Dachshund Owners ONLY..she has the Tude that only a true Dachshund Lover can appreciate!

About Carolina Loving Hound Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Mission is to provide a safe, loving home for Treeing Walker Hounds, Bloodhounds, Black and Tan Hounds and Dachshunds abandoned at kill shelters in northern South Carolina and surrounding areas. Carolina Loving Hound Rescue advocates for and affirms the fundamental respect and equal consideration due every animal we are privileged to touch. This guiding principal is reflected in our daily operation of hands-on, no-kill rescue. We provide a safe environment and medical care needed while overcoming physical and emotional scars suffered at the hands of their previous humans, allowing each animal to heal both body and mind. Carolina Loving Hound Rescue will give them the time and psychological space and respect they deserve to facilitate total healing. We will teach them that not all human touch will cause pain but rather that is a source of love, caring and nurturing.
