My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chelsea, Young Female, 46 pounds, Richmond VA

CHELSEA IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND, VA AREA. PLEASE GO TO WWW.MOMSRESCUEVA.ORG TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION.

Hi there, I’m Chelsea. I’m a 2 year old Shepherd mix and I’ve had a rough start but things are really looking up! I spent the first part of my short life chained up and in solitude. Then I had puppies and we were all dumped in a kill shelter. Because me and my puppies were shy, even fearful and we weren’t given much time. Luckily, MOMSVA stepped in, and made sure my pups and I were safe. I use to be very shy around people and sometimes other dogs because of my previous life experience, but once I got into foster care my foster mom could see all my potential and since then I have really blossomed! I still get a little nervous when I am not sure what’s going on, but my foster mom is so proud of how far I have come. She is exposing me to new things every day and I just love it! I am really starting to open up and come out of my shell! I also LOVE our daily walks together, it’s my most favorite thing and I am learning how to be such a good dog on a leash! I am housebroken and do well in the house, all I need is a comfy bed to lay on, and maybe a bone to chew? My foster mom is so proud of how far I have come, she says I am very sweet and the most gentle. I love playing with all the dogs here too and I feel like a puppy again!

I would like to find a relaxed home with a family who will continue to teach me in a patient and loving way so that I can become the confident girl I know I am on the inside. It might be good for me to have another dog around for a larger family to show me the ropes, but for a small family or an individual, I would make a great companion all on my own. I just love all the attention! I’m SO ready to find my forever home and start my new life! If you choose me, I promise to give you a life of love and devotion and will be the best walking buddy you have ever seen!

If you would like to help me come out of my shell and blossom before your very eyes, complete an application at www.momsrescueva.org to see if I’m a match for you!
