Gemma-adoption pending's Story...
Hi! My name is Gemma. I am a small, sweet girl who only weighs about 23 lbs at 6 months. I came from a shelter in Kentucky where my owners abandoned me not long after I got hit by a car and needed to have surgery on my leg. I had a pin put in so my leg could heal properly, which was removed by the vet at the shelter. My foster mom took me to the vet here where they took an x-ray of my leg to make sure it was healing correctly..and YEAH! The vet said it looks like it has healed beautifully! The only aftercare I need now is lots of exercise so I can start stretching it and moving it . The vet said I will need lots of walks which is so perfect because I LOVE walks. ( It is very helpful that I happen to walk nicely on a leash, too!) I am crate trained and I appear to be housebroken! I love to chew on bones but I don't chew on anything that is not mine. I am very smart and I listen well. I have had a lot happen to me in my short life and I know that I am deserving of a family that will love and care for me forever - please come see if I am your little girl!
Lots and lots of kisses,
- Gemma

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gemma-adoption pending, a Schaumburg Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Schaumburg, or seeking a Collie puppy from a breeder in Schaumburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schaumburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schaumburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schaumburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
