My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet little hound dog is the best of both worlds. She has qualities that are unlike most Beagles.
Quiet
Polite around food
Friendly with cats
Couch potato
Petite in size (weighing in at a mere 20 lbs.)
Combined with the best qualities Beagles are known for:
Social with adults and kids
Enjoys the company of other dogs
Adorable big eared, dark eyed, Beagle face
Lulu has had a rough couple of years. She was adopted from a local shelter by a well-meaning family. But they did not understand what Lulu needed in order to feel happy, safe, and understood. In this home, Lulu was crated everyday while the owners worked. When crated, she panics to the point of crying and trying to chew her way out. The family spent two years trying to make it work, but the result ended up being sending Lulu a new home. That's where her current foster mom came in.
Lulu has been taken in by a positive reinforcement trainer. There, she has received some much needed help with her anxiety. She has been trained to feel differently about being alone. Since being in this home, Lulu has never been crated. She has never been destructive in the home when alone, and does not have any inappropriate elliminations. She spends her days lounging on the couch and sunbathing in the window. She also enjoys going for short walks and watching the squirrels in the back yard. She is very polite to her kitty housemates. And she loves seeing visitors come and go. She has met all kinds of men, women, kids and babies. She loves them all equally. She has also accompanied her foster mom to work many times and spent time with a group of dogs during off leash play time. In short, Lulu is the model house guest. After months of counter conditioning, she is ready to find her forever family.
All Lulu wants in life is to cuddle up on the couch with a soft blanket and her favorite people and dream the day away. She is not the type of dog that needs lots of exercise, although she would never turn down a walk. She loves walks in the woods the best, lots of fun things to sniff! Lulu needs a family who will respect her fear of confinement and never crate her. She would also very much enjoy a home with other dogs. Beagles are a very social breed. They crave constant companionship. Lulu is no exception.
Will you be the one to show Lulu what a forever home looks like? This sweetheart deserves nothing but the best.
