Hello! My name is Tank. I think my name suits me pretty well, since I weigh in at a whopping 83 pounds - and I'm only 1 year old! Don't be fooled by my size though, I'm as sweet as they come. I'm neutered, micro-chipped and current on my vaccinations, so you won't have to deal with any of that if you adopt me.
I arrived at CageFree by way of a high kill city shelter. I'm probably a purebred Labrador Retriever, which is quite rare to find at the pound. I've heard that Labradors are one of the most popular breeds out there. I must admit, that doesn't surprise me, since I happen to be one of the most handsome guys in this part of town. Don't you agree? I'm much more than a pretty face, though. I'm affectionate, loving and happy. My tail never stops wagging!
The thing about Labs is that we tend to act like puppies for the first couple of years of our lives. This means that we have lots of playful puppy energy! Due to my energy level and my large size, it would be extremely beneficial to start me in a training program right away. I need to learn some manners! This is especially true if you have small children. I like to show my affection toward people by jumping on them and giving lots of kisses, and I wouldn't want to accidentally knock them over. Trust me, I wouldn't hurt a fly!
Not only do I love hanging out with my human friends, I get along great with other dogs, too. No one is a stranger to me, just a friend that I have yet to meet. And I can't wait to meet you!
