Katia's Story...
Katia is a gorgeous adult kitty who was surrendered to a local animal hospital. They needed help finding her a new home, so ACL stepped right up to assist! Katia is about as friendly as they come - this awesome cat loves to stand in your lap and rub her face against yours. She's very demonstrative about how much she loves people! Katia does have a tendency to come down with urinary tract infections, but her condition is very easily managed with a prescription diet. We don't know if Katia has ever been around dogs, so we can't say for certain whether she'd enjoy having a canine companion. We believe Katia would be very confident and loving with respectful kids of any age.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katia, a Oak Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
