Vera is a special girl in need of an incredibly special home. She’s not your average cat; in any manner… This nearly 9-year-old lady lived most of her life for her kittens. Those days are past her now, having nursed her last litter a number of years ago and been spayed. Her time at Forever Paws began way back in 2012, as a stray animal. When she arrived her tail was dead weight… she was unable to move it. Shortly after arriving at the shelter, the decision was made by veterinarians to amputate her tail for her benefit. The damage, whatever it may have been, was too severe to recover from. Sadly, with the loss of her tail went her ability to control her urine output. Further, in order to keep the rest of her system running smoothly, she was put on a daily lubricant gel, Laxatone. All of this results in her not being the best option for a traditional home situation. Our hope is, after just shy of four years living in a shelter, she’ll find the special situation she so desperately deserves. This beautiful tortoise shell, short-haired kitty has waited far too long for a family of any sort. This April will mark 4 years of Vera living at Forever Paws Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter that has provided her care and affection day after day. While we have enjoyed our time with her, we know a shelter is no place for an animal to live out its entire life. This cat, like all pets, deserves stability, not just shelter; a home not just a safe haven. If you think you might have the ability to offer this unique lady the unique situation she so deserves, please contact us today.

About Forever Paws Animal Shelter,Inc.

About Our Shelter...

Forever Paws Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We believe there is a home out there for every animal we take in. We work to give each animal the gift of time, therefore we are a no-kill shelter.
Every animal taken into the shelter is given complete veterinary care, is neutered or spayed, evaluated and when available some training and behavioral rehabilitation, if needed.
Our shelter mission is to provide suitable care, food, shelter and humane treatment for any abandoned, owner surrendered, sick, lame, overworked, old, cruelly treated and/or confiscated dog, cat, or any other domesticated animal. Educating the public concerning animal welfare and owner responsibility for the purpose of advocating humane treatment for animals and to prevent animals from being sold or given to laboratories or institutions and/or subjected to experimentation. Our motto is to "give animals a new leash on life".
