My name is Alex and I am about 2 years old. I lived on the streets in Sulfer Springs most of my life. I was severely injured and my tail was all but severed. I dragged it around for a long time until I was rescued by St Francis Animal Rescue. I have tolerated the pain of an injured tail because my focus was trying not to starve to death. I was taken in by my foster who gave me the first good meal I have had in a very long time. I was then taken to the vet where they had to amputate my horribly injured tail. I am so grateful to St Francis for giving me the antibiotics and pain medicine I need to get better. I feel I have a second chance for a happy life. I have a ways to go before I am fully recovered, but at least I am getting the care I need. I am a friendly female kitty who hopes to become a part of a loving family. I now purr often and am happy to wake up each day with a lot less pain than I had before. I am excited that I have food to eat every day. If I had not been rescued, I would have surely died from a serious infection. I am one lucky cat. Thank you, St Francis, for feeling that my life was worth saving. I promise to make a family very happy that they adopted me.

About St. Francis Society Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Some of our cats ready for adoption can be seen at the following Adoption Center locations:

PetSmart, located at 12835 Citrus Park Dr across from the Citrus Park Mall. Our volunteers are onsite for adoptions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and will be happy to assist you with finding the perfect feline companion. PetSmart management can assist with an adoption during other days/hours, time permitting. Cats are onsite 7 days a week.

PetSmart, located at 11331 Causeway Blvd in Brandon. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite for adoptions Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 10:30am to 2:30pm only.

Petco, located at 13127 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm only.

We have many more cats than the ones housed at our Adoption Center locations. Our cats live with foster families until they are ready for adoption and space is available at an Adoption Center. If a cat is located in a foster home and the foster has provided contact information, you can get more details on a particular cat directly from them.
