Bear's Story...
http://www.valleydogs.org/bear-bassetmix.html -- Hi I'm Bear and about the best dog you can find! My daddy is a Bassett hound and mama, well she's of mixed heritage. And I am a great combination of both. What I lack in stature (I'm a little vertically challenged), I make up for in cuteness and sweetness. I lived with my brother for 8 months, but he found his forever home, so now it's my turn. I'm very social, love all people and dogs. Cats are ok but not very interesting, and a little grumpy.

Since I'm used to having a companion, I really would like a home with a best friend about my size to play with. I also love my people and will curl up with you on the couch or by your feet. I'm crate trained but would much rather sleep wherever you are. I am mostly potty trained, and I prefer to go outside, but I am still a puppy and can't always wait. Come and see me at Petsmart and see what a great addition I would make to your family!

Wouldn’t you like to meet me and see how cute I am?? If so, please complete an adoption interest form and email adopt@valleydogs.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Gilbert Basset Hound/Pug puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Pug for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Basset Hound/Pug puppy from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Pug breeders who help with Basset Hound/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
