My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An adoption application on SHELBY can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h

Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application and do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

Stunning SHELBY had the most radiant green eyes! She is also a very good girl. She hasn't even had a single accident in her foster home, and she goes in her kennel wonderfully when her family heads to work. She lives with a young playful dog and a senior in her foster home. We also introduced her to kitties when we were interviewing her for the rescue. She did great! SHELBY is always kind, but is definitely timid at first. She loves people and wants desperately to trust them. She adores snuggling with her foster parents. She could seriously lounge around all day. She is also extremely fond of her walks. With her long legs and slender build, we think she would make a fine hiking or jogging partner. However, she isn't a hyper dog who needs daily runs at all. If you like to hit the road, she can be your copilot! She rides calmly and quietly in the car. SHELBY is 2 years old and 35 to 40 lbs. If you are willing to open your heart to give this girl just a little kindness and patience, you will be eternally glad you did. She will repay you tenfold!

SHELBY is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $300 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to Nashville.

All of our dogs start their journey in Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
