Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Roxy is a gorgeous loving girl looking for a home to call her own. At 12 pounds, Roxy is 3 years old and looking for love from her Georgia foster home.
Roxy enjoys other dogs and loves to play with her fleece knot toy. Roxy does chase cats although doesn’t seem to be aggressive towards them, however she will not quit bothering them until they remove themselves from her. Roxy has not been kid tested but would do well in a home with calm children who are over the age of 13 years.
Roxy loves to go in her crate and will run to it if you tell her to ‘go to her room’. She is used to staying in her crate when her foster mom and dad are at work and only rarely has a potty if they are late getting home.
Roxy is housetrained but like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in her environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.
A smart girl, Roxy knows exactly what bowl is hers and will not eat in any bowl that isn’t her own! She loves treats and snuggles. Her favourite sleep position is snuggled on her foster moms neck. Roxy would like a home where she could continue to sleep in the big bed and have those special neck snuggles!
Roxy does not like car rides. She will cry and fuss and would rather stay home than go on a trip.
Roxy is Heartworm positive and is undergoing the slow kill method of treatment. GetALong Dachshund Rescue will continue to provide this treatment for Roxy to any approved adopter until such time Roxy tests negative for heart worms.
This beauty is waiting for you so she can cuddle around your neck and let you know how much she loves you! Apply to adopt Roxy today.
