Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, January 21st from 1-4pm and Sunday, January 22nd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.

* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted:

This cat will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 7th from 1-4pm and Sunday, January 8th from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our cats or dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Electra is a 1 year old Tuxedo cat. Electra is a totally chill cat. She gets along with everyone. She came into her foster home and was like, 'Hey, look, our new home.' And that was it. She was happy. Though her sister loves to play with toys and may need a support group for her obsession, Electra is happy to play with the feather for a minute and after that, she's good. She'll come chill and watch the other crazies. On more than one occasion she has been heard making fun of the other cats who chase that stupid laser thing. We've threatened to withhold food if she gives all our secrets away. So what if they'll never catch it. That was never promised...

Electra lives with other cats and does just fine. She also lives with dogs. She lives with a variety of dog personalities as this is a foster home for dogs so lots of different ones come and go. The regular ones are cat savvy with the exception of one young buck who likes to give chase to Electra every now and then. She retreats to Foster Mom's room and she is safe. She is a total cuddler and snuggler. She will sleep all night on the bed and hey, she doesn't even wake you up in the morning until you do. She is a quiet cat. She's not one to be too noisey. She isn't a meower. Electra is an option to go to live in an apartment or condo setting. She is accustomed to a foster home that works long hours so she enjoys the free reign of the home with or without people. She is an option to live with kids as well.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

About Doggie Protective Services (DPS) - Palo Alto

About Our Rescue Group...

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
