Jet is an easy going, sweet as they come, 8 year young, field English Setter that would fit into just about any family. He is in a foster home with a stay at person and that suits him well. He enjoys the company of other dogs and has no issues with other dogs, even grouchy dogs, he just avoids them. He literally lights up when meeting some new dogs so we think he would be happiest in a home with another dog. He will play bow and try to find the right dog to play with him. He mostly ignores cats, maybe a hello sniff, so we are confident he’s previously lived with cats.

He was turned into a North Texas shelter with a story that makes no sense to his foster or temp foster Moms. We do not understand how this amazing boy was first taken to a Vet to be put to sleep and when the Vet refused to put a perfectly good dog to sleep he was taken to a shelter with a story of a minor bite to a wrist. He is great with people, both men and women. His temp foster Mom gave him a bath and trimmed his nails shortly after he arrived with no issues at all. The Vet confirmed a completely gentle nature. He is the kind of dog that seems to do well with everything but since we’ve not had him in a home with kids, we are looking for an adult only home. He settled into his temp and foster home in a few days.

Jet loves exploring the yard so a medium or larger, interesting and physically fenced yard is a must for this boy’s enjoyment. He may have been confined before rescue from looking at his body condition, but that is changing with a large yard to self exercise. In the house he is calm and well behaved.

Jet is in a foster home in the Texas Hill Country near Austin and San Antonio. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. The Vet says that his hips are good and he isn’t showing signs of arthritis. He was significantly underweight when he came into rescue but he is a good eater and he should be at his ideal weight of about 58-60 lbs in no time. He’s house trained and leash trained and would like to go to a home with another dog and someone who is home a lot. Some family will be very fortunate to have Gentleman Jet join your family.
