Priscilla-In Foster's Story...
Hello my name is Priscilla! I'm a 4 month old kitten that was brought into the shelter as a stray. I was found in a shed and brought to the shelter immediately for medical help. Unfortunately I had some nerve damage to my back which makes my back legs unusable. This does NOT stop me though! I may drag my back legs, but that just makes me unique and more lovable. I am able to, and do use the litter box in my foster home. I'm a little sassy with the other cats, because I'm still a kitten and want to pounce, play, and attack things like strings and fake mice. Whoever adopts me is going to have a unique and lovable kitten for the rest of their life! Fill out an application to adopt me at www.al-van.org or call the shelter at 269-637-5062 if you would like to visit with me. I'm already a shelter favorite, so they want me to go to the best home possible!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Priscilla-In Foster, a South Haven Domestic Mediumhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in South Haven, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair kitten from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
