My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chad is 'A New Leash On Life' Program (NLOL) GRADUATE! He is approximately 11 months old and is a brilliant & handsome black & white Labrador Retriever/Border Collie mix (such a great combination!). He was the youngest trainee in his graduating class and possibly the smartest! He has a very sweet and trusting disposition, and an endearing curious personality to match his intelligence. In his first week of training, he learned how to respond to several commands, both verbally and by using hand signals. You can see him 'sitting pretty' and 'sit' in two of his profile pictures (among the commands that he was taught during his 8 week training). This young guy is quite impressive. He is nearly full grown and weighs approximately 45 pounds.

Chad is a young active dog. He would be wonderful for an individual or family who enjoys walking, jogging, hiking, etc.! He does well with children, as you can see in one of his profile photos. He is actually quite aware of a child's size and from what we have seen, is quite mindful to play more carefully around smaller children! Again, a very impressive trait for a such a young dog! Chad plays very well with his toys with humans, but doesn't share his toys very well with other dogs. That said, he plays well with other dogs when toys are not involved. He would do well in a home with a similarly aged female dog (one of his fellow classmates, Julia, was one of his favorite playmates during their education, she is also available for adoption). IN addition, this sweet guy does not seem to mind cats. :)

Now that Chad has officially graduated, he is 100% ready to meet his forever family! Please see below for further adoption process details.
