Kona's Story...
Sweet little Kona was abandoned in a local home in at the end of February. When she first came to the shelter, she was extremely upset and had very little trust in people. However, as the days progressed and volunteers and staff worked with her, she has become a very cooperative young lady. Kona is about 2 years old and loves to walk on leash. She is very shy at first, but warms up quickly. Kona would most likely do best in a home without other dogs. She is as smart as she is loveable. Wouldn't you love to give her the chance to get to know and trust you?

  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Kensington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Kensington paves the way for another one to be saved.
