Hello all, my name is Sarge and I'm a 5 yr old male Black & Creme GSD. Let me tell you a little about myself. I came from a shelter in GA. I got surrendered by my owner because you see, he had a Shock Collar on me and his little kids got ahold of the remote and they decided to shock me several of times. It really hurt and now I don't want to wear a collar but yet a harness is fine.  They gave me up to the shelter because I didn't want to be around the children anymore.  Can you blame me?   I'm scared of little kids. I'm okay with older kids. I do have a trust issue because my old family let me down more then once. Just give me a few minutes to come to you and I will want you to scratch my nose. I love that so much. I'm totally a velcro dog. I really love my human/s. I will follow you everywhere you go, so that no one, nor nothing attacks you. I don't need a crate, because I'm fine being left out. I am house broken and will go to the door when I need to go out. I'm okay on a leash. I'm great with both male and female doggies small and large. As I live in house with both. I really like sleeping with my foster Mama and her doggies. And chewies, did I hear that right??? Oh, how I love some chewies. I will sit and be a good boy for a chewy. I do great on car rides.   I'm fine with cats. My foster Mama just tells me no, no and will just sit and watch the cat. When she leaves she just shuts the cat up in the room so there is no chasing going on while she is gone. lol.
I'm really just a big lover boy who just wants someone to love me. I'm more interested in my human then playing with the other dogs. They are okay from time to time, but it is you humans who I want the most. So me going to a house with no other dogs to play with would be fine, or a dog that I can just chill with would be fine. But if your looking for a big playmate for your doggie, I might not be that boy.
If you feel you could be my human please contact your Area Coordinator or fill out an application at   www.southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com  . I really hope to meet my family soon, so I can spend the upcoming holidays with. I am being fostered in Kingsport, TN.

(Disclaimer)  What Sarge had on him is NOT what SGSR condones.  SGSR does approve use of a stem collar, that is properly introduced with a trainer who can show a family how to use them.  But what Sarge went through, was abuse.

Our adoption process consists of a telephone interview, a call to your veterinarian and a home visit. If you have any questions about the adoption process please contact sgsrescue@gmail.com .
