Freckles's Story...
My name is Freckles and I am a 6 month old Staffordshire Terrier mix puppy. I'm here to tell you how awesome it is to have a deaf dog. Don't be fooled--it doesn't hold me back from anything. Did you know that I'll sleep through your alarm clock until you gently wake me up while you drink your coffee, get dressed, and take out the trash before letting me out? You can also do cool things like walk me down the street past all kinds of loud things while I just trot on by like the awesome dog I am. I'd be a great running buddy! I sound like the ideal dog, don't I? I really love my people and other dogs, but I really love cats. However, sometimes I love cats a little too hard. I am learning to be gentle with the cats in my foster home. I seem to like kids a lot, but am also learning to be gentle with them, too. My foster mom is working on teaching me hand signals for training and so far, so good--she says I am brilliant! Especially because I'm a staffy puppy (aka a big sponge), my forever family will have to keep up the good work to make sure my manners stay 100%. Maybe you can even put me in some fun obedience classes. I am up to date on my vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. My adoption fess is $200. Email rescueofhope@gmail.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Freckles, a Grand Rapids American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
