My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olive is a sweet, cuddly, affectionate girl, between 5-6 years old, who arrived as a stray. She is not a fan of other cats, but is tolerant of polite dogs. Olive has occasional bursts of playful, but is mostly a hang out on the couch (or on your lap) kind of girl. She has trouble jumping - the vet says she has abdominal scar tissue from some sort of prior trauma, which limits her jumping motion a bit, but she can go anywhere as long as she has no jumps of over about 2 feet! We have built her "staircases" around her shelter room, so she can get up to window perches and other higher spots.

Looking for someone to curl up with and read a book, or watch some sports on TV (golf is just about her speed), Olive is a great choice! One warning: when Olive is happy, she is a drooler. The vet checked her mouth out and there is no physical problem causing her to drool - she's just a "wet mouth" kitty!

Olive has impeccable litterbox habits, and is an easy keeper. She would be perfect in any sort of family, from a single young professional to a busy family with kids to a couple of retirees... she loves all the people she meets! She does run a little bit "super-sized" so should have a measured diet. Right now, she is missing some fur on her flanks and belly due to stress pulling - she is not enjoying being a shelter cat, and would be so grateful for you to bring her home so she can have more companionship and a family with which she can cuddle. We recommend she be an indoor cat (or train her to harness/leash for outside visits), due to her limited jumping ability.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Olive is suggested minimum $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
