Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, let me tell you a little bit about myself!
My name is Gidget and I am a 9 year old Shih Tzu / Brussels Griffon mix, that just received a MUCH needed makeover for my looks and my well being from my friends at NBS Animal Rescue. Before their help (along with Bingo Pet Salon, and my other friends at 4paws1heart), you couldn’t even see my face, and I couldn’t see anything since my fur was matted to my eyes, nose and elsewhere so badly. I wasn’t sure there was going to be any hope for me, but lots of people came together to make sure I’d have a happy tail after all!
It just so happens that I am a super smart little lady! I’m crate trained, walk well on a leash, give great kisses and am doing great with potty training. Of course, I’m also a superstar at snuggling (its my favorite!). I should also mention I’m a very good companion to talk to about your day – and snuggling on the couch. I love to fall asleep watching movies, cuddled up with someone who loves me.
I am a mellow lady who enjoys a low energy home, I get anxious around small children, and get nervous around a lot of commotion. It would be best if I was in a home with kids 12yrs and up, so I can learn to be more confident. I would love to have a quiet home with someone who was home often and like to go on short walks, snuggle with me, and pet my soft belly.
I do well with other dogs who are also low energy, mellow, and friendly. Dogs who are hyper, or like to sniff me a lot make me a bit nervous and I try to hide. I would love a home of my own with a family who will spend their days leisurely enjoying each others company.
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
