My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We have a dark ebony female chinchilla that is looking for her new home. She came to NWI about a month ago and we estimate she was born around 10/25/15. This makes her right about 5 months old – now’s a great time to take her home and make her part of your family!
She is a dark ebony chinchilla, so she is pretty dark black all over her entire body, including her belly (this is what makes her an ebony, that her belly is the same color as the rest of her).
This girl is active! She’s very sweet when you’re holding her, though she loves to explore and would much rather be checking out the world around her. She would likely love playtime when she is old enough (6+ months, soon!), as she’s got energy to burn! She’s outgoing and not afraid of people – when we put her down in a cage to take pictures of her, she kept continually coming right up to the front to check us out…also likely to get past us so she could explore, but we didn’t intimidate her in the slightest! Sweet girl, just would do well with an active home that really plans to interact with her. Doesn’t bite.
This chinchilla is currently living alone, and we do not know if she gets along with other chinchillas. If you are curious as to whether she might get along with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
This chinchilla would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before, as long as you understand that she will be leading an active lifestyle.
This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.
Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet, fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.
