My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Farfel's Rescue was notified by our compassionate rescuer in Kansas that an adorable Terrier...maybe with a bit of Cairn in her mix.. was scheduled for euthanasia in just a few days. Although you can't see it in this photo, Bristol is gorgeous...with the softest and kindest eyes that just reach into your heart. The rescuer spoke of this 18 - 24 month old, 7 lb pup as a gift of love. She saw Miley as a wonderful and devoted companion for a family with older kids - she was concerned that very young children would intimidate Bristol with less than gentle treatment..after all, she's just a tiny girl. She also described her as a great friend to gentle canines...she would enjoy the play, walks together and hanging out at day's end.

We took a look at the sad eyes staring out of the shelter photo (they spoke of difficult times)... and heard the reports of Miley's carefully wagging tail that spoke of a huge desire to trust and bond for life. We accepted Miley immediately into our program. She was removed from the shelter, vetted (perfectly healthy), temperament-tested (passed with flying colors) and brought to a nurturing foster family who will reinforce Miley's house skills and socialization while she waits for her transport to a new life in Colorado. We've committed to finding Miley a committed and very loving family who will enjoy her for her devotion, sweetness and strong desire to please. Once Miley becomes comfortable in her surroundings, she is a friend that will make you laugh at her antics and want to hold her tight just because she's so incredibly cute!

We would love to see Miley in a home where she becomes a true member of the family. Retirees or individuals who work out of the house would be perfect for this sweet young girl. Miley appears to have a calm side that loves nothing more than to settle into her person's lap and stay put with an occasional lick and a wag of delight at her good fortune. She would love walks outdoors in the sunshine and is portable enough to bring along on every dog-friendly adventure. Miley has done well in the car and would be overjoyed with riding shotgun.

Miley appears to be either a non-shedding or lightly shedding pup (it's difficult to tell until she loses her sad shelter coat). She will therefore require periodic grooming...Miley deserves a spa day immediately with a sudsy bath. Great nutrition and care will keep Miley's scruffy Terrier coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

We have requested that Miley be spayed prior to transport. However, if that doesn't happen due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this rural area of Kansas, Farfel's will cover all costs to have Miley spayed and microchipped at Spay2day in Lakewood immediately after she arrives.

Miley will arrive on transport in Denver on Friday 4/8/16. If interested in this loving, cuddly and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
