Are you looking for a cat that will love you? Sheldon will and all he asks is that you love him. SHELDON is a cute young (almost 3 years old) male kitty with shiny black fur. They say "third time's a charm" and let's hope it is for Sheldon. He was adopted as a kitten and then surrendered by his loving owners because, sadly, they could no longer care for him. He was adopted a second time and returned through no fault of his own. Sheldon is somewhat confused right now because the only homes he has ever known are gone. He is a kitty who is shy at first, but once he has acclimated for a few days, he is very sweet, affectionate, and social, and is even good with strangers. He loves to climb and explore, and is very curious about what is on the other side of a door, -- so he should be watched as a possible escape kitty until he becomes accustomed to his new home. He never bites or scratches, so he is good around kids. Sheldon loves to cuddle, and will head butt you to get you to pet him. He gets dehydrated with 100% dry food diet, so we recommend mixing it with wet food or giving him a canned-only diet (we have been feeding him Fancy Feast canned mixed with dry food). He is not picky and will eat anything you give him! His adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Sheldon is temporarily in foster care getting over a gastrointestinal upset. For more info, call Beth at (541) 255-9296

About West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for companion animals of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd. WCDC works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. WCDC is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help WCDC save as many animal lives as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 11-4pm Sat.-Sun.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.
