Velma's Story...
Hi everyone, my name is Velma and I am 15 weeks old. I am a Rottie mix. My Mama was a Rottie mix and my Daddy was a Dobie/Lab mix but I have a little bit of white on my paws. I am very sweet but quiet & timid girl. Where my siblings are friendly and outgoing I am the quiet pup in the group. I prefer to be by myself and will be crawled up in my corner. I do like to be held but I am very scared. When I came into my foster home my foster Mom noticed I am a very timid girl & she is trying to socialize me to her family, to the other dogs and her kids. It’s taking baby steps. Maybe I just was never around people or I was abused. I don’t have any physical scars but I am a very shy girl. I hope this doesn’t make you not want to give me a chance because if you look into my pretty eyes you can see I need & desperately deserve a forever home. I just need someone to love me. I came into my foster care because I, siblings & my Auntie needed help. See, our owners had a bunch of dogs and they weren’t taking care of us. They reached out to a shelter but unfortunately it was down South and those shelters are kill-shelters. Someone there knew an IAR Volunteer and they helped us. My siblings & I are quiet pups and like to just lay around. Our foster Mom is teaching this thing called “potty training”. We go outside a lot which is helping our potty training. I don’t think I will grow to be very big because my Aunt is not very big – she’s medium size so who knows. I’m ready to be in my forever home so all you have to do is fill out an adoption application & then you and I can meet up. I really hope you can do that. I’ll be hanging out here & learning some socialization. Please don’t overlook me. You’ll look into my eyes & you’ll see a sweet girl that needs a loving home. Please go to www.illinoisanimalrescue.org. I hope to meet you soon! Xoxo, Velma.

Velma is located in our foster home in Glen Ellyn. Please visit our website to view our adoption process and our adoption fees.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Velma, a Palatine Rottweiler/Doberman Pinscher puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler/Doberman Pinscher for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Rottweiler/Doberman Pinscher puppy from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler/Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Rottweiler/Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
