Hi, my name is Chloe! My owner got sick and could no longer take care of me. The nice doctor at the clinic was kind enough to let me stay here until I find a new home. At first, I was not so good with other dogs but now they let me go to daycare very day with other dogs and I realized they're not that bad. As a matter of fact, it's alot of fun to run and play all day! I am very sweet and love pets and cuddle time. I am loyal and will love you forever if you choose me to be your new companion. I would prefer a home with another dog, and I especially love boy dogs! Wanna meet me? Email

I LOVE other dogs, belly rubs, cuddling with my humans, going for walks, sun bathing, eating, giving kisses, going for car rides, being included in all family activities

I HAVE A loving and gentle disposition, a tail that wags incessantly and kisses waiting for you all the time.  I also have one eye that doesn’t work and that requires eye drops daily, and since my mouth/jaw was injured prior to being rescued, I do have a minor snoring problem.  I have excellent hearing and a strong bark and will alert my family when I hear unfamiliar noises or sense that something just isn’t right.

I GET ALONG WITH all people and dogs that I have met so far (and I’ve met many).  I am comfortable setting appropriate boundaries with overly-zealous dogs.
I WOULD RATHER NOT share meal/eating locations with other dogs as I am a rapid eater and have a ferocious appetite.  I can get a little bossy when it comes to food.   I would definitely prefer not to be in a shelter again as I am the perfect (easy) house pet. My foster mom has had to kennel me a few times while traveling and although I prefer to be in a home 24/7, I am quite flexible.

I NEED to be in a home where I can be affectionate.  I love attention but am very satisfied just lying next to your feet while you work or watch TV.  Although I have learned some basic commands, I could use some additional obedience training.

I AM an easy to please, and eager to please affectionate and happy middle aged girl who loves my humans and responds well to correction.  My early years were challenging, however, I am beyond thankful to all who rescued me and provided me with love. I am looking forward to “paying it forward” from here on.

A PERFECT DAY FOR ME INCLUDES  a couple of short walks and/or car rides, a few belly rubs, snuggling with my human(s), a nutritious meal or two each day, and laying on a soft rug, dog bed, or soft human furniture (if allowed) next to my humans while they work or relax.

I PREFER NOT TO have to ruff-house with other dogs though I am good at escaping to my own quiet place)

IF YOUR FAMILY is looking for an easy, trustworthy, calm and affectionate family  member who aim to please, then ask for Chloe!

Age: 4-5 yrs
Weight: 48 lbs
Dogs? ok
Cats? no
Kids? older kids ok

About Red Collar Rescue - Seattle

About Our Rescue Group...

Red Collar Rescue is an all volunteer 501 (3)(C) animal welfare charity dedicated to providing rescue services, medical care, foster care, training and adoptive placement to stray and abandoned dogs and cats in Houston and surrounding areas. We adopt our pets to all 50 states and Canada.

Houston is sadly the #2 kill city in the U.S. There are 1.2M stray pets on our streets. The City Pound (“BARC”) often takes in 150-200 pets per day either as strays or owner surrenders. Almost a dozen other area shelters and pounds also take in dozens of homeless pets each day and many do not adopt to the public but transfer only to rescue groups. The number of homeless pets and resulting euthanasias are staggering -- the average "live release rate" from Houston area shelters is only about 35-50%. In addition, RCR works closely with the Houston Police Department on many cruelty case dogs. We are often a last resort for dogs who have faced unimaginable abuse and negligence, only to face euthanasia after being confiscated by the city government. Red Collar Rescue volunteers work tirelessly to save as many as we can, but the Houston area is saturated with so many pets in need of a home and not enough adopters. To put it simply, we encourage out of state adoptions because it helps us save more lives. We hope that you will consider one of our many adoptable pets who are waiting for a second chance at a forever home - wherever it may be!

Our Adoption Process...

Red Collar Rescue works hard to find the perfect home for all the dogs and cats in our care. Listed below is the sequence of events that we go through to assure that our pets and our applicants are the perfect match for each other:

1. Fill out and return our adoption application form.

2. After receiving your application, we will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals.

3. We will contact you to discuss your current situation and which pet you are interested in adopting.

4. After discussion, we will arrange a time for you to meet your prospective new family member.

5. If the initial meeting goes well, we make an appt and bring the pet to your home to meet all family members - human and furry.

6. Upon agreement by all parties, the adoption is finalized by signing the adoption contract and making an adoption donation for your newest family member.
