I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Xena's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Xena's Story...
Xena is a sweet and loving 7 year old girl who suffered a spinal injury prior to coming to GVAWL. While she has some muscle tone in her rear, she is unable to walk normally and can't always hold her bladder/bowels.

Xena is now under the care of a wonderful vet and amazing foster mom who is helping her with physical therapy. And thanks to our amazingly community of donors, she has a cart to help her be more mobile. We are hopeful that with time and loving care she will continue to gain strength and mobility.

Xena wants nothing more than to be by your side or in your lap and give you all the love she has. This girl's strength of spirt will surely grab your heart. She will need continued PT from her owner (that can be done at home) and regular vet check ups to monitor her progress. Do you have the time and love to help make our girl whole again? She will surely repay you in love and devotion 100 fold!

If you are interested in adopting Xena, call (970)235-1013. She will not be ready to meet potential adopters until 4/13.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xena, a Gunnison Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Gunnison, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Gunnison.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gunnison already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gunnison breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gunnison paves the way for another one to be saved.
