My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Koby, he is a very friendly and affectionate guy. He is calm in nature, but shows a very playful side at the dog park and at doggie daycare. Koby is a Shepherd mix, weighing 33.2 kilograms. Koby is a little over weight, however he is losing weigh with daily exercise in his foster home. It shouldn’t take him long to reach his recommended weight.

Koby is good with other dogs and in the past has lived with a cat and another dog. He gets along great with his foster siblings. He hasn’t lived with children, he has met a few small children recently and was friendly and let them pet him. He does great at daycare, swimming at Waterpaws Aquatic Centre with the trainer, on walks, at the dog park and is learning the Tredmill. Koby is timid at first with learning new things, but with positive reinforcement and praise he is willing try.

Koby takes his treats very gently. He does great with run of the house and will sleep in a crate or on a dog bed. He is very respectful of the house. He loves people and prefers to be around people all the time. He experienced separation anxiety when he first came into foster, with diligent work from his foster family Koby has come a long way and is more accepting with being left at home for short periods without a human. A home where the humans are at home the majority of the time would be Koby's ideal home or someone that is willing and patient to help him transition to his new home. Koby is a smart guy and loves positive verbal praise, we are working on recall at the dog park, as he likes to play with other dogs and doesn’t always want to come when called right away.. Koby loves his Kong, and running after the ball with his foster siblings. He is house trained, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He recently had a small benign tumor removal surgery and requires special treats and food due to allergies. His stitches come out March 28th with an expected clean bill of health.

In most photos’ Koby photographs grumpy, which his foster parents think is funny, because he isn’t. He is such a kind, sweet, happy and lovable guy. Koby's foster parents believe he has seen a lot of love and attention in his life.
