for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Carmen's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Carmen's Story...
Carmen in an adorable 3 yr old black and sable German Shepherd Dog. She is a complete water bug!! Her favorite thing to do is leap in the pond off the dock! She is an active, loving, and loyal GSD.
She is an alpha female and would do best in a home with an alpha male dog or as an only dog.
She is smart and eager to please! She can't wait to find her forever family to share her life with.

Please Note: Carmen is Heartworm positive. DFW GSR chooses to put it's heartworm positive dogs on the slow kill heartworm treatment. This treatment can be sent home with adopters and given once every other week for six months before the treatment it done. No need to confine your dog during this treatment and it is much safer and easier on the dog in the long run. Heartworm positive dogs are still up for adoption and DFW GSR supplies all of the medications and support you will need to treat them for the slow kill treatment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmen, a Fort Worth German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Fort Worth, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Fort Worth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Worth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Worth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Worth paves the way for another one to be saved.
