This poor little girl was abandoned outside the shelter in the hot sun. We have no idea how long she was out there before we found her and when we did bring her in she was very scared. We had to keep her quarantined for a long time because she had no vet records, but we did get her in to be spayed and checked over. She is healthy and the vet thinks she is about a year old.
The problem we are facing is that she is still petrified of the other cats. We don't like to keep our kitties in cages, but have had to make an exception in her case. If we let her out of the cage she hides and won't come out to eat. So in order to make sure she is healthy and still eating, she will have to remain in a cage until she is adopted. Won't you please help poor Skittles? I hate that she has to live in the cage and am hoping that someone has a heart and a home for this sweet kitty. Please call Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary as soon as possible 239-283-9100!

About Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary

About Our Shelter...

Adopting the unadoptable.
Providing abandoned and unwanted pets a second chance.

Helping Paws Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no kill shelter, housing almost 200 healthy cats and kittens, as well as special needs, FIV and FELV cats. They are housed in rooms not cages; waited on by loving volunteers, have toys, TV’s with cat videos and water fountains.

The goal of the shelter is to not only find them homes, but to provide a wonderful home for the cats while they are in our care.

We hope to someday provide an equally loving environment for dogs and other animals when we have a larger facility.
