Half Pint's Story...
Hi there, my name is Half Pint! I started out on the mean streets of Henrico, but then I was picked up and taken to a tiny, cold cage at the pound. Luckily, I didn’t have to stay there long before I was taken to a warm, loving foster home. Now that I know how great the indoor life can be, I don’t ever want to go outside again! Having a foster home has been great, but I’m ready to find a forever home to call my own!

I’m a very sweet, affectionate girl. I love people and all the pets and head scratches they give me. But my favorite part of being an indoor kitty is all the toys I get to play with! There are so many fun toys that I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite. I sure hope my forever home is filled with lots of fun toys too! When playtime is over, its back to my humans for some snuggles. And don’t forget to save a spot for me at bedtime!

I’m a very easy going girl. I like other kitties and tiny humans and even calm doggie friends. All I really need is a home with plenty of toys for me to play with, soft beds for me to nap in when I’m all tuckered out, and people who will give me lots of love and attention.

If you'd like to meet me, please email cats@henricohumane.org to setup a visit. Don't forget to tell them you want to meet Half Pint!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Half Pint, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
