9/29/16 - UPDATE Jake is now about 9 months old. We have just updated his photos and really hope that Jake is close to finding his forever home. He is great dog with a unique face and build from his lower jaw that sticks forward a bit to his bowed legs..Jake shows that he is full of personality right from first glance!

Jake's foster mom says Jake is friendly and wants to be a lap dog. He was an excellent "nanny" for several litters of puppies. Since all but 4 are adopted, he has turned his watchful eye on my husband.

4/4- Meet Jake. He is about 28 pounds and 4 month old. He has all of his shots and has been altered. He is in perfect health and is a delightful puppy considering the terrible start he had. Jake was apparently the runt of a large litter of a hoarder. When we first got involved with the situation we never saw Jake. We had taken some pups/dogs and on about our fourth trip we saw a movement under the porch. When we went over we were shocked to see a starving, scared, terrified puppy. We knew we did not have a minute to spare. Grabbed him up and off we went to the vet. He was touch and go but he made it! It was a long road but Jake is happy and well adjusted.

The adoption fee of $375 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, USDA interstate health certificate (for transport only) and transport fee. Please go to our site for general information and the adoption application. fordogssakerescue.org. The application is the first step in all adoptions/inquiries. This is not a link; please type in into a new browser window. At this time, we are unable to adopt to Rhode Island residents. Please note: Pups marked “pending” are adopted but not yet traveled home. They are to be considered unavailable. Thank you. Additional information is available on our site fordogssakerescue.org.

About For Dogs Sake

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, volunteer organized and run dog rescue. We work with shelters and rescue groups in AR & AL to find homes for their locally unwanted, but highly loveable puppies and dogs. The pups and dogs are brought to New England on transport once their vaccinations are up to date for travel. We are always in need of foster homes for our pups; the more we have, the more pups can be saved.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Appointments can be made to visit some pups at their foster homes at mutually convenient times for adopters and foster parents. (The pups are up for a visit anytime!)

Our Adoption Process...

We require the potential adopter to fill out an application form and tell us about what life would be like as a puppy at your house. The address to the adoption form can be found in the pups' bio. Once the application is received, we will check your references and then contact you for an informal "phone interview." If it is mutually determined to be a good match, an adoption contract is sent via email. Our adoption fee is stated in their bios, and is due at the time of adoption. A signed and dated adoption contract is due at puppy pick up.
