found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Have you ever had one of those moments where things just line up and stop you dead in your tracks? Such is the case with Belle.
We were at Memphis Animal Services looking for dogs to bring into rescue when we first met her. We thought she was a great dog, so we did what rescues do, we got to work finding a foster for her. The next day we went to see her again and at the exact moment we walked up to her kennel, another person walked up to see her too.
Turns out this guy was Belle's neighbor. He told us the story of how his neighbor got her when she was a puppy (on Thanksgiving day). He told us how he watched Belle spend countless hours tied to her kennel in the driveway and then locked away in the garage, how the neighbor had a little boy who went outside every night and got 5 minutes with his dog, how he played fetch with Belle. He continued to explain that they had tried to get Belle out of the situation, but the neighbor would not give her up - until one day he realized that he hadn't seen her for a day or two, so he went to the shelter...and there she was, and here's where we met.
Belles neighbor told us that she used to come to see his dogs, and it was clear she knew him. He shared pictures and we promised this very good guy, and this very good girl, that we would make Belle's life a happy story with a good ending.
Belle lives with another dog and is lovely with kids. She is a tennis ball fetcher, courtesy of her sweet little boy who loved her. At 32 lbs and 10 months old, she's a great sized dog who's looking for not small, not big in a dog. Belles adoption fee is $500 and includes her spay surgery, microchip, vaccinations, heart worm preventative, health certificate and transportation from Memphis to your area upon addition.
