Mona is a spunky little lady, 13 years young, weighing ~23 lbs. She was surrendered to rescue after her dad lost his job and his home. Even though we know she misses him very much, she has settled into her foster home’s routine and gets along well with her foster siblings. She has some arthritis but can handle stairs with ease. She always grabs a stuffed toy before going out into the yard and then retrieves it before coming back into the house; she loves to hear them squeak. She and her foster brother love to play keep-away with the toys. Even her big sister Ivory gets in on the action. She likes to find the softest comforter and snuggle down into it; she can be a little protective of her spot if Ivory wants to join her in her little nest. She can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and seems to love most everyone including children. She can’t hear real well, but she is alert and loves to prance around while waiting for a treat; she loves to eat! She likes to ride in the car too. She goes into her crate willingly and is potty trained. She had some benign lesions removed prior to coming to PAWS, and her body coat is beginning to grow back. Mona is spayed and up-to-date with vaccinations. She would be a wonderful companion for anyone who is looking for the companionship of a very sweet dog.
