Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Delilah is looking for her forever home! She is a 7-8 yr old shih tzu who weighs just under 14 lbs. She was found as a stray, her owners were contacted, but they said they were moving and could not take her back. She is a friendly, sweet dog who loves people and gets along with other dogs (we haven't introduced her to cats yet). She does well with housetraining and is very quiet in the home. Poor Delilah seemed to live a life of neglect. When we got her she had a skin infection, ear infections, dry eye, a bladder infections and large and numerous bladder stones. She has since received antibiotics to clear up her infections, she has had surgery for her bladder stones and she is getting eye drops for her dry eye.
She will need to be maintained on a high moisture diet with supplements to help prevent reformation of her bladder stones. Her new owner will need to be very observant for any signs of bladder infections and be proactive at treating her to also prevent risk formation of new stones. She will also need to continue her eye lubricating gel and eye drops 2 times a day to help with her dry eye.
Delilah's adoption fee is $300, which helps go towards the cost of her veterinary care.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped.
