Facts about Mustang Sally

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 61877

Sally is a beautiful, sweet and gentle girl. She is very loyal, loves to be loved and would sit on your lap if she could. She is always happy to see you, loves to snuggle with you, absolutely loves the recliner and will follow you around all day if you let her.

Sally has had multiple litters, was an owner surrender to Dallas Animal Services, and taken into Mazie's on what would have been her last day. She is now spayed, vetted, and has completed her heartworm treatment. She is estimated to be between 8 and 9 years old as of February 2016, and weighs 55 lbs. Sally is housebroken, walks very well on the leash, and loves to play with her foster sisters and brothers, but has no interest in toys. She is fine with cats in the house but we did have to work on that quite a bit. Outside, however, if she sees a cat or squirrel, she gets really excited and will try to give it a good chase.

Sally is a happy dog, a great companion, and easy to be around. Because Sally is a loyal dog, she also watches out for you and will bark to warn you if there is activity around the outside of the house.

Sally eats well and was food bowl aggressive, but that has been corrected. She used to grab treats as well and that has also been corrected. She knows sit, stay, come, look at me, wait, and okay.

Sally will be a great addition to any family because she is such a gentle soul.

About Mazie's Mission

About Our Rescue Group...

Mazie's Mission desires to be like no other sanctuary in the world! The founder, Erin Shults, DVM, has a passion for rescues and believes all animals deserve to live without pain or fear. Mazie's Mission is actively fund-raising to raise revenue to build a 'Animal Compound' that can include all animals in need. On the 40 plus acres that The Mission wishes to purchase, there are plans to build a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital that will be a healing sanctuary for all animals in a rescue situation-this hospital will not serve the public! Dr. Shults will be able to offer lower cost veterinary care for shelter animals all around the DFW metroplex and drastically decrease the euthanasia rate to allow rescue organization save more animals. Dr. Shults also wants to aid prosecutors in abuse and animal cruelty cases. She currently collects forensic evidence in neglect, hoarding, and cruelty cases for Collin County. Stricter laws are being passed that punish animal abusers and there is a need for people to collect the evidence to demand those sentences. Each time an animal from Mazie's Mission is adopted, the proceeds help us to reach our dream of a 'No-Kill Nation'. Through eliminating puppy mills, spay/neuter, and public education, the United States can end needless euthanasia!
