I'm a handsome, extra large boy who is about one year old. Because of my size and age, I'll need an adopter with plenty of dog experience. I'm still learning how to be a good dog and will depend on my person for guidance and direction. I've made great progress with the training I've received at the shelter, and in the right home with the right person, I should continue to progress. (I'm very food motivated, so that always helps!) My adopter must be willing to work with a trainer and must also have a fenced in yard. I'm playful and like to cuddle with people I know and trust. I'll need an adult only home and I cannot live with cats or other dogs. If you are very dog savvy and understand how to consistently build respect and trust between dog and owner, you may be a great candidate for me! Please note that a home visit will be required before adoption.
Thanks to a generous sponsor my adoption fee has already been paid!
The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
