My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Kizzy, I’m a 1 year old Chi-Weenie. People say I’m aptly named because I’m KISSY! They say I’m a little French, which doesn’t make any sense to me because I’m Dachshund (German) and Chihuahua (Mexican). My owner gave me to the rescue because he didn’t have enough time for a puppy. I’m up to date on all my shots, neutered and microchipped so you’ll never lose me! Since my previous owner was a male I tend to gravitate towards males, but I’ll share my puppy love with anyone with a face! My foster dad has been working with me to build my confidence, especially around big dogs! I tend to talk a lot but that’s because I have a lot to say. Everything is so new to me but my foster parents are teaching me when its acceptable to talk and when its quiet time. They introduced me to this weird thing called a leash but I honestly would rather ride on your shoulders. When they go to work I get to stay in my kennel, which isn’t my favorite thing but with more use I think it could be a safe place for me. I’ve also been working on potty-training, sometimes I just get so excited I pee a little though! My foster mom thinks I’ll grow out of that with time. Will you be my forever home? I promise to snuggle you, play with you (and any family dogs!) and protect you from the mailman and garbage man! I will need a securely fenced yard and ideally another dog to play with, after all I have a lot of puppy energy! Small children might be a little bit intimidating for me, and since I’m only eight pounds, I’m a little fragile. If you have the time and energy to teach me so my confidence will soar, I will love you forever and share my kisses with only you (ok, I’ll probably still kiss everyone else too, but come on! I’m just that cute!). Suggested adoption donation for Kizzy is a minimum of $300 which goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
