Donnie's Story...
Donnie and Marie are 2 year old friendly Mountain Cur mix siblings. They arrived from the Hocking County Dog Kennel so their history is not known. Rather than have these sweet dogs face an uncertain future, Fido's Companion pulled them for us and brought them to our shelter to find their forever homes. Friendship has been able to save hundreds of dogs by working in partnership with great rescues like Fidos! Donnie and Marie are young and have lots of energy so are looking to be adopted into active homes. Both will need some training but aim to please and are easy going. Stop by soon and take a look at Donnie or Marie. You'll certainly be singing a happy tune if you adopt one of them.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Donnie, a Elyria Mountain Cur dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mountain Cur for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Mountain Cur dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mountain Cur breeders who help with Mountain Cur rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
