Facts about Athena

  • Breed: Boxer
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Athena is a 4 year old fawn female who is long and lean. She came to ABR from the San Marcos area. She is healthy, heartworm negative and set to be spayed in mid August. She is a people oriented girl preferring human company though she can have a dog friend or two if they meet her standards. She’s probably not OK with cats and we don’t know about kids.

This lady just fits right into a human household. She doesn’t jump up, doesn’t beg for food, waits to be invited onto a couch or bed, greets guests politely and doesn’t usually bother things that aren’t hers. It is best, however, for her to be kenneled if her humans are gone for over 4 hours as curiosity and boredom can get her into trouble. Athena is house trained, does well in her crate and loves a leisurely walk so she can sniff and explore. She can be very playful but is also quite calm as Boxers go.

Athena is at her best as part of, or better yet, the center of a family. She might make a dog friend or two, or maybe not, but she’ll be your friend and companion for sure.
