Our adoption process is somewhat different to other organizations as we don’t engage in same day adoptions. The reason why we don’t is to prevent returns, or worse, abandonment.

It is our mission to be the voice for the voiceless. Each dog, cat or horse that we adopt out has been promised a second chance for happiness and security. We take this promise very seriously. Each potential adopter is asked to complete a PRE-ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE at this link:

After the meet and greet (if you reside out of town, we proceed to complete a virtual interview via Skype. Our handle is norest 15. It is this way also that we conduct the 'home visit' in the event that we cannot find another humane organization to do it for us)  if you are still interested in our companion dog or cat, you are offered the opportunity to keep him/her for a period of 3-7 days to see is him/her meets your expectations and lifestyle. If you chose to do this, we collect a “deposit” of $100.00 either via check or cash. The check or cash is not deposit into our account until you decide this is the pet for you. In the event that this is not the pet for you we return your check or cash. If this is the pet for you we then proceed to complete the formal ADOPTION CONTRACT and your deposit becomes the ADOPTION FEE.

We ask from all of our potential adopters to read our adoption contract and welcome as many questions as you may have after reading it.

Again, thanks for your interest in BUSTER.  If you have any questions or concerns please call me at 850-270-8793, this is my direct line and if I happen to be busy just leave a message, your call on average will be returned within 2 hours.

About Our Rescue Group...

You Can Make A Difference, Inc. is the final phase in a journey that began many years ago. After years of aiding other organizations to achieve the goal of preventing animal abuse we decided to create our own organization.

It was the realization that only if we stop the birth of unwanted animals that the vicious cycle of animal neglect, abuse and abandoned would eventually be stopped that moved us to establish the organization.

We hope that together we can make a difference in the lives of many animals while at the same time educate others in responsible pet parenting. It is time for all who have been touched by the unconditional love that animals can provide to start to "pay forward."

Our organization is geared to serve residents in Gadsden County, Florida. Gadsden County is the second poorest county in the state of Florida. There is no animal shelter in the county, only a high kill facility.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are at PETCO in Tallahassee every first Sunday of the month between the hours of 10 am and 2:30 PM and at PETSMART in Tallahassee the THIRD Sunday of the month in the same schedule.
We have an adoption booth at the Tractor Supply Store in Tallahassee, FL. at least four times in the year. Dates are advertised in our website or via Facebook.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee ranges from $75 to $200.00 dollars. All animals are fully vetted, spayed or neuter accordingly as well as microchipped. Puppies usually have either the first set of vaccines or all depending on their age, but may not be spayed or neutered. A refundable deposit is required when adopting a puppy that has not been spayed or neutered. Deposit is refunded upon proof of having spayed or neutered such puppy.

You can see our adoptable pets during one of our monthly ADOPTION EVENTS or with a prior appointment coordinated via telephone or email.

An adoption contract is required. This contract includes an agreement for no less than 4 follow-up home visits during the first year of adoption. A FENCED IN YARD is required.
