My names Leia and I'm about a year old. I recently came to Demi's Animal Rescue in early November from an animal shelter in Colorado, that I had lived in since I was found as a stray kitten.
The people there didn't understand me and never took the time to get to know me. They never let me play with other kittens to make friends. I was confined to a small cage for months on end. With the neglect of the shelter staff, I retreated more and more into my shell and I became depressed, lonely, and scared. I lost faith in all humans and animals.
One day, I was woken to a kind face with a kennel. She was trying to lure me into the kennel by telling me it's okay and that I was going to a better place. She finally got me into the kennel and I was placed in a vehicle with 20 other cats. Before I knew it, I was let out of the kennel into a magical place with a huge cat tree and a safe hidey hut. They tell me this safe place is Demi's Animal Rescue.
When I got to know this place I was greeted by new faces that weren't scared of me, they wanted to love me and show me a brighter side to life! I have been here for a month and I no longer use my hidey hut to hide, just to sleep! I love to be pet, picked up and held! They also let me meet new kitties and play with them, although I don't always like all of them! I have really come out of my shell and I love to be loved! Even though I love it here, I would like to meet new faces and become part of a forever family! Come meet me, I can show you what second chances look like!
** *Leia has really bonded with Irona Man and they need to be adopted together :-) They are a great pair!* We would also LOVE to have a foster step up for Iron Man & Leah to allow them to have a more comfortable space! We provide ALL supplies- there is no cost to you! Please email us if interested! email@example.com
