Athos's Story...

09/28/11 -- Athos is an eight week old male black German Shepherd pup. He came to Wish Bone with his two siblings Porthos and Aramis (named after the three musketeers). The pups’ mother is a purebred German Shepherd (who weighs about 65 pounds); their father is unknown.  The mama is a farm dog who had her litter in a barn. When the owner couldn't place all of them Wish Bone Rescue stepped in. All three pups have nice friendly temperaments. Athos currently weighs eight pounds. Minimum adoption donation $295.  Athos has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm and fecal tested, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athos, a Bloomington German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
